1. Sketch a simple designDraw a small heart, star, or series of short lines lightly on the front of the card. Keep the design away from the fold and edges.

2. Pre-punch the holesPlace the card on a protective foam or cork pad. Carefully make small holes along your drawn line, spaced far enough apart that the paper will not tear.

3. Thread your needleCut a manageable length of floss and thread the needle. Secure the end on the back of the card with a tiny piece of tape.

4. Stitch between the holesBring the needle through the pre-punched holes, alternating from back to front and front to back to build a simple dashed or connected design. Avoid pulling hard.

5. Finish the inside neatlySecure the thread on the back with tape. If you like, glue a small matching paper panel inside the card to cover the thread ends; allow it to dry before writing.
